The webinar is based on an informative guide developed by GIZ India (under its project Management of Organic Waste in India) for the Ministry of Housing and Urban Affairs (MoHUA, Government of India). The guidebook talks about different and contextualised techniques for managing biodegradable waste - including composting and anaerobic processing at household level. The guide encourages a “Do it Yourself” mindset in a fun and creative manner so as to bring an effective, sustainable behavioural change for taking accountability of one’s own waste.
The guidebook comes with an interactive decision-making tool, a one of its kind tool developed keeping in mind the user at every home. It is in the form of a toolkit which helps the user in decision-making – helping to choose a suitable biodegradable waste management technique based on various key parameters.
