Webinar: A digital registration tool for EPR systems

In an EPR system, a Producer Responsibility Organization (PRO) is the spider in the web and must communicate with all manufacturers and distributors. They must be able to register in the system and need a simple procedure where they can indicate what kind of material and how much they put on the market. In turn, the PRO must inform what fees are to be paid. To make this process transparent, to keep the confidential data safe and to process it for reports, a digital EPR registration tool can support.

On behalf of GIZ, the German IT agency Ambient has programmed such a system. Programmed as an open-source tool, it can be adopted and used by other PROs free of charge. In such a case, the registration tool has to be tailored to the specific needs of the PRO; however, the essential functions are always the same.

In this EPR webinar, Felix Schul, Managing Director of Ambient, will present the functions of the registration tool. He will answer questions about how the system can be adapted to the needs of other PROs and how much effort this involves.
